Powered by the innovative Wave OS operating system, the machine offers two working environments. Easy Mode simplifies parameter selection for fast setup and repeatable results, while Pro Mode provides complete control over every welding parameter, enabling experienced operators to optimise the welding process for demanding applications. Job programs can be stored, recalled and transferred through USB for traceability and production consistency.
The Superior TIG 422 Wave supports HF and Lift TIG ignition, conventional TIG, Pulse TIG, Easy Pulse and MMA welding. Advanced Pulse technology minimises heat input while maintaining excellent arc stability, making it ideal for thin materials and applications requiring minimal distortion. The Easy Pulse function further simplifies parameter configuration while maintaining professional welding quality.
For aluminium fabrication, the machine incorporates AC/DC welding, selectable Sinusoidal, Square and Optimized AC waveforms, together with the exclusive Mix AC/DC process. These technologies allow improved heat distribution, enhanced cleaning action and outstanding arc stability when welding aluminium and other non-ferrous materials, while also offering excellent control on thicker workpieces and positional welding.
Additional intelligent functions include Thin Spot, allowing clean and accurate spot welding on thin sheet metal, together with Pulse MMA welding for coated electrodes. A dedicated air tunnel cooling system protects sensitive electronic components from dust and contamination, increasing reliability and extending machine life even in challenging industrial environments. The water-cooled Aqua version allows extended high-duty-cycle operation without compromising torch performance.
